Over the years we at Roots built a blue print for the first self-styling hair cut in America today and now Roots is the only salon in America that has this haircut.
Lenny Holtzman, the founder of Roots and an innovator in hair design and cutting, has been a trend-setter in hairstyles in his 50-year career, creating many of the hairstyles that set trends for different time periods in our history.
Lenny believes that sculpturing a head of hair with scissors is an art form; it is the art of finding the unusual in beauty or pleasure when it is least expected; and having the capabilities, knowledge and talent to create that which is unique and unusually beautiful. And that philosophy is what drives Roots to innovate.
What is a self-styling haircut? For one, no chemicals are used in the styling process of our haircut. After washing, your hair will fall into place looking as though it had been freshly styled.

Lenny Holtzman, the Founder of Roots, is the innovator of Hidden Lights, a non-damaging, all natural way of adding shimmering highlights to the hair. Hidden lights is an eco-friendly, non-carcinogenic method of removing tone from selected thin threads of hair, with results that look like you have just spent a day at the beach. Using only food-grade products and a mild pre-lifting agent, and a totally off-scalp method of application and tools designed specifically by our engineering staff, we have created highlights that look completely natural, do not damage the hair, and that never leave roots. Roots is the only salon on Cape Cod, that offers this innovative method of creating natural looking highlights that do not show any roots with hair regrowth.
